Key changes to Tee Times Booking Protocols

Key changes to Tee Times Booking Protocols below from 1st May 2024

  • Open Tee Sheets allowing Member Pairing Up – active from 9am on 1st May 2024
  • No ‘One Ball’ policy at the weekends before 4pm
  • Juniors are marked with ‘J’ on tee sheets – juniors must book with other juniors. Adults not to pair with a junior unless family or known to each other.
  • Members Pairing Up Policy (Open Tee Sheets)

We have been monitoring the tee sheets and have noticed an increase in one ball bookings and ‘no shows’. These are taking away tee time availability for members and the utilisation of the course in general. Kingswood is a fourball course. It is a shame to hear that members cannot get a game and yet there are plenty of spare tee times available. With consultation with the committee, we have decided to implement a ‘Pairing Up Policy’ from 1st May 2024 to allow more access for members to tee times. Please make yourself familiar with the rules below:

OPEN TEE SHEETS - Members’ pairing up policy will be in play 7 days a week. This means if you book as a one, two or three, it is allowed for fellow members to join your group without having to message/contact the lead booking member. This increases availability and very much helps the flow of the course. We believe the pairing up policy will also encourage good integration and inclusion amongst the membership. Many clubs operate their tee sheets in the same way and makes it much easier for members to get a game.

Therefore, it is very important that when you book your tee time, you add the correct number of players to your tee time otherwise you may be paired up with fellow members of the club. Your name must be on the tee sheet in order to play.

HOW IT WORKS - When viewing tee sheets, if you see an empty tee slot in an existing booking, simply click on the slot and book it. Please do not book with a Junior (marked with a 'J' on the tee sheet). The tee sheet rules prevent visitors booking with members, but members may book with visitors. If you are unsure about booking with someone, please call the Pro-Shop.

Should you prefer not to have other members/players join your tee time, this is allowed (accept in competitions and socials), please book in the follow way in this case:

  • Book your tee time in the usual way but select 4 players in order to reserve the entire time.
  • Enter the names of those that are playing – this is essential as your name must be on the tee sheet in order to play.
  • For the remaining tee slots add a guest to fill the times to prevent others booking. Please use ‘A RESERVED’ for the first slot, ‘B RESERVED’ for the second slot.
  • Remember that we are a fourball course if choosing to play as a two or three in the middle of the field.
  • Please note, it will be assumed that any slots left vacant will be available for other members to book into.
  • Please do not use ‘anonymous’ to book the remaining slots in your tee time

At all times, the use of ‘anonymous’ in your booking must not be made. Please always add the names in your booking. We understand that sometimes you need a little time to confirm your playing partners, we will allow 48 hours from booking for anonymous thereafter we reserve the right to cancel anonymous bookings without the need to inform the booker.

JUNIORS - It is not allowed for adults to pair up with juniors unless family or known to each other. These are marked with a ‘J’ on the tee sheet. Juniors must pair with other juniors at weekends.

ONE BALLS – one balls are not allowed at weekends before 4pm. You are allowed to book as a one maintaining the availability for other members to book with you but not allowed to reserve the other three slots making the tee time exclusively a one ball. The timing will change during the winter.

Rules for member guests and official club matches:

  • Guests - If you are planning to bring guests, we understand that you may not want others to join the group. Therefore, in this case, for example, if you are bringing two guests, book as a four, add the names of your guests and for the fourth write the word ‘A RESERVED’.
  • Matches - If you are playing an official club knockout and is in a two-ball format, book as a fourball with the two members names and then add guest bookings with the name of the competition for the third and fourth players i.e. Fawcett Knockout.

Tee Booking – ‘No Show Policy’

  • Tee sheets open 14 days in advance for members.
  • No Show – Members that do not show up for their tee time will be recorded and contacted.  Members who regularly commit the offence may have their booking privileges reduced. A yellow card system is implemented. The first tee is being monitored by CCTV from the Pro-Shop. Members that do not show up for their tee time will be recorded and contacted.

These protocols will be turned on for the 1st May 2024 at 9am. For the first two weeks of May as you advance book during April, you will not be able to pair until the 1st May but then from that point onwards you can pair. We hope you like these changes as it will increase tee time availability and give you more options to get a game. As always, please keep up with the game in front and most of all, enjoy your golf.

Kind regards
